Why can’t I download the musical tracks?
The recordings selected for this website span a number of decades and involve a variety of collectors, artists and recording companies. Most of the recordings are still protected under copyright and have been cleared for one-time use only. In future, we may re-visit the issue of electronic distribution rights but at this time we only have the tracks available for listening via the website.
May I request copies of the recordings on the site?
The Beaton Institute does have a reproduction programme in place with a fee structure according to the number of recordings or textual materials requested. At this time, we have not created a full-length CD for sale, and reproduction costs will be calculated according to our current structure. For the tracks on this website, it is approximately $10.00 per recording + shipping/handling and CD. However, these costs do vary depending on the amount of recordings requested and whether the item(s) are in the public domain or protected by copyright. It is best to please contact the Beaton Institute for a quote in advance of your request. Keep in mind that reproduction requests may take between 2-6 weeks to complete.
